Asparagus is only around in the early spring, so be sure to enjoy this perennial crop as much as you can while it's here!
Keep asparagus in your refrigerator standing up in a bit of water (like a bouquet). Stems should last several days if not a week that way.
Trim the "woody" ends of asparagus before enjoying. We encourage you to try dipping raw spears into hummus, pickling your spears, or quickly marinading and throwing them on the grill or in a frying pan. Flavors that pair especially well with asparagus include lemon, garlic, bacon, and heavy cream.
