Also known as green onions, scallions serve beautifully as a garnish or centerstage. Their mellow onion flavor is delightful in sauces, stir fries, or simply grilled on their own.
Store in the refrigerator for a week.
Scallions can be used from root to tip! Chop the green tops small and add liberally to any dish that would benefit from an onion flavor (raw or cooked). We especially like them with eggs. The white bulbous parts mellow out when cooked. At least once, try grilling or searing on the stovetop with olive oil and salt (go ahead and place the whole plan, minus the roots, on the heat)!
