In our opinion, the sunflower shoot is the most underrated of the microgreens and shoots. They have a rich, nutty flavor and distinct crunch. Our favorite use is pairing them with sweet flavors.
Keep shoots in a plastic bag or covered plastic/glass container in the refrigerator. We wash and dry all of our greens, so they're ready to enjoy!
Sunflower shoots have become a smoothie staple in the Storey household. Add liberal amounts to achieve a sunflower butter flavor in smoothies or juices. Of course, they're great as part of a salad, too.
Finally, one of our favorite ways to enjoy sunflower shoots: on a peanut butter and jelly sandwich!
